Building Security Measures

In addition to having a security person 24/7 NLF has added a number of security and safety features to make our building safe and secure. Some of the new security features that have been completed are Security Cameras, Alarms, and Security Doors & Locks.

Constructing code-complaint landing enclosures

landing enclosure

Building code-complaint landing enclosures has provided a greater level of safety and security for our building tenants and occupants. Landing enclosures were completed on the 2nd Floor, Mezzanine, and 4th Floors.

Repairing the steam boilers

Yes we have heat! Having the steam boilers up and running makes services with coats on a thing of the past.

Installing code-complaint exit signage and lighting

exit sign

All of our exit signs, emergency lights are now code-compliant and ensure safe exit of the building from all floors.

Constructing 2,500 sq. ft. space for nursery and young children

nursery

One of our first projects, the creation of three new spaces for children ages 6 months to Kindergarden was a great deposit for our children and their parents. The new facilities are located directly across from the sanctuary. One of the features of the new children’s area is a beautiful wall painting of Noah and the first rainbow!

Installing two 20-ton rooftop AC systems

air conditioning system on roof

With our new industrial sized AC systems we are all able to stay cool during Sunday services and other special events during the hot steamy New York City summer days!

Renovating approx. 3,500 sq. ft. of the entrance area

Construction on the shell in the entrance area

Taking full advantage of the gorgeous architecture of the building we restored and renovated the entrance area of the building. The new Yellow room and Blue Room’s provide space for greeting visitors, class rooms and provide gathering places for small groups and communities.

Remodeling our staff offices to reduce footprint

While providing a new fully appointed conference room and redesigning our staff offices we created more space for classes and meetings and outreach opportunities like our English as a Second Language Classes.

Renovating approx. 250 feet of hallway/rooms in tenant area

bathroom

You may not know it but the 4th floor of our building is home to a number of folks who were present when we first purchased the building. We are renovating this space for the safety and comfort of our tenants and we are creating space for visiting groups who come to minister in NYC. These include renovated bathrooms, windows and hallways.

Constructing approx. 800 sq. ft. recording studio

bnb

Known as BnB the Beats n Blessings academy provides youth with a safe, encouraging and challenging environment to make and record their own songs. The BnB studio was formerly our children’s area but has been transformed into a professional quality, air conditioned recording studio.

Constructing approx. 1,000 sq. ft. of Community Health Center

exam room

What was once a large, dirty and smelly eyesore is being transformed into an inviting, clean, beautiful area where folks from our community can be given free health services

Renovating approx. 500 sq. ft. for Community Food Pantry and Clothing Exchange

The NLF Food Pantry and Clothing Exchange provides services to the poor in our community. In addition to this facility we have repaired the existing large scale refrigeration systems located in the building to help keep donated perishable foods fresh.

Constructing approx. 1,500 sq. ft. of new classroom space

NLF places a high value on equipping and training. The new classrooms provide adults, youth and children with comfortable spaces for learning and growing.

Install outdoor electronic sign

outdoor electronic sign

Being in the geographic center of New York City and having a prime location on Queens Blvd a very busy 8 lane thoroughfare we are given a unique opportunity to communicate with large numbers of people 24 hours a day. Our electronic sign has been a major tool in drawing people to our Sunday services, children’s events, youth events and communicating to our community the love of God.
